Gangasagar involves road travel, a ferry crossing and some walking. With a little planning it can be done comfortably by senior pilgrims.
Comfort tips
- Choose a one-night stay instead of a same-day trip.
- Avoid peak Mela days if possible.
- Carry regular medicines, prescriptions and a basic first-aid kit.
- Ask for help with boarding the vessel and for assistance on slippery jetties.
