What is the best time to visit Gangasagar?
You can visit at any time of year. October to December is usually best for pleasant weather and comfortable sightseeing. January is ideal for the Gangasagar Mela and its religious festivities. Summer (March–June) can be hot, and the monsoon (July–September) is best avoided because of heavy rain and possible travel disruption.
When is the Gangasagar Mela 2027?
The Mela is planned for 12–16 January 2027, with the Makar Sankranti Punya Snan around 14 January. Mela tents and packages are on this site; book early.
